“I am incredibly grateful to have received the COVID vaccine. I got the vaccine to protect my patients, my family and friends, my community, and lastly myself. I trust the vaccine as part of the path forward from this difficult time. I had a few common side effects from the vaccine (sore arm, chills, body/muscle aches, fatigue), all which only lasted one day. I hope that when it is your turn… you will not pass up the opportunity! Peace and strength to all.”

Pamela Valenza
Family Physician and Chief Health Officer

“I decided to get the vaccine because it was recommended by public health and medical experts. I have friends who’ve had COVID and had a really bad experience, so I decided I’d rather get the vaccine than get COVID. I also want to help reduce COVID in the community. I got the vaccine in the morning and had some soreness in my arm by the evening. The soreness only lasted a day or two, and otherwise I had no side effects! I’m excited for when my partner and the rest of my family can get the vaccine too.”

Quality Improvement and Compliance Manager

“I am excited to finally say I have been fully vaccinated and to also be the first in my family to get the vaccine. I got the vaccine to protect the patients, my loved ones and most importantly for myself. Once it is your turn to get the vaccine I strongly encourage you to take the advantage and get vaccinated as this will help us all get out of this tragic pandemic as it has affected everyone’s life.”

“I was so excited to get my vaccine and I could barely even feel a pinch when I got it! I felt a little tired that afternoon but the next day back to normal. I am looking forward to more people to be able to get vaccinated so we can see a way out of the grief and economic distress affecting our communities since 2020.”

I'm so excited to be among the first Americans to receive the vaccine against COVID-19! I feel confident that this vaccine is safe and effective, and this is our best chance to end the pandemic. Big thanks to Denver Health for arranging the vaccine administration for healthcare workers!

I decided to get the vaccine to protect my community, myself and my baby - I was 3 months pregnant when I got my first dose! Though I was GRATEFUL for the opportunity to get it, I also felt incredibly NERVOUS. I tossed and turned in bed the night before thinking about the possible side effects and if it could harm my baby. However, thinking that it could actually be of benefit to the two of us brought me peace and reassurance. My appointment went smoothly and I had minimal side effects other than a sore arm (I already felt fatigued and nauseous due to the pregnancy). If you are pregnant and hesitant, know that you are not alone! I would highly recommend not having much planned the day after you get it in order to rest.

“I got the vaccine so I can be with family and friends again. I can’t wait for hugs! I also wanted to do my part to help keep our community safe. I am super grateful to have received the vaccine and want to do my part to help others get their vaccine.”
